Automation delete?

OK so I am learning working with track lanes and I put some automation in a couple things pan, volume and then tried to delete the automation tracks. When I hit the remove button on track lane the track disappears but the data still shows ghosted on the parent track. I've tried everything to delete the data but as soon as I add a automation track there it is again. I want to delete the entire automation track to put it in a state like when I first open it. Also When did the sliders stop moving with the data? my volume was going up & down but the slider wasn't. I have found so many bugs in X2,it's hard to understand what's not working vs i don't know how to work it!

shift+left-click the automation envelope then right-click the envelope and select delete from the popup menu.

I got it when I enter the node dialog and select delete envelope that worked. Problem is if I have an vol envelope that starts with the volume low and deselect read automation, the volume slider won't work properly on that track unless I change the first node or delete the automation envelope. The slider will limit it's top range to wherever the node it's supposed to be ignoring is. If I call up a new automation volume envelope it starts out where the old one was instead of starting out where the slider position is like I'm used to. This plus the sliders don't move with it makes it tough to see what's happening. With read automation off I would think it would ignore the automation lane but it is restricted by it!

Ref the envelope deleting, as well as the individual method you can also do a whole load of automation at once. To do that select the track then select "Edit-->Delete Special". From there you can deselect what you want to keep and delete what you don't, automation for example.

Ref the control following automation. Are you sure read is off? I don't see that behaviour here. Off is working as you would expect.

Positive. The slider max won't go higher than the 1st node was set at. The slider will still work but the max value will be whatever the node was. Remove the envelope and it returns to normal. Both parent and track reads are off.the rest of the automation won't play, but the aforementioned happens. I'll try again tomorrow sometimes a reboot can fix some strange happenings I've seen

Do the sliders move for anyone else during automation?

    Yes, all the time.

It sounds as though your read on/off is acting the wrong way round - or - you're reading the button incorrectly

It's glitchy behavior. It must have been stuck. I haven't tried again, I will tonight. I wanted to find out if it's supposed to or not. (They always moved before.) I am positive I had it on read,it was automating volume but that track slider wasn't moving. X2 is full of bugs. More than any software I have ever used. Next time I will reboot before asking questions that often seems to help. None of the issues I have were in X1 or 7. Ran rock solid. Thanks for the info!
