Automation for many tracks?

Is there a way to record or create volume automation on one track that can control many tracks?

As an example I would like to create automation info on one track that can control the level of all the vocal tracks that are in the current project? Another example would be controlling all the drum tracks that belong to the drum kit.

I use both X3 & 8.53 for recording my projects.
Cheers & Merry Xmas

Route the output of all your vocal tracks to a vocal buss, then automate the buss.

You can also create automation for one track then select that automation and paste it into the other tracks. This isn't great for modifying them together, but it works ok as a starting place.

For example, if I have 3 backup vocal tracks I can create automation for one (since they sing together) and then paste it to the others. It's a good idea to listen though, because sometimes one singer comes in early or late.

StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen.
I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

Doesn't it work to group multiple faders to an automated fader?

I actually checked that because of this thread, but I couldn't get it to work that way.

It will work if you set each fader to Write-Enable, then after quick grouping the faders just move them as the project plays.

BUT, if the starting positions aren't identical I'm not sure how this would look after automation. You may not get the same volume changes for each track.

Why are we talking about this - just automate the bus
