Automation lane midi not working on render/bounce/freeze

Sonar X2a build 351. Using several different software virtual instruments (Play/Hollywood Strings and Omnisphere), I record a few bars of notes. Then I add two automation lanes, one for modulation, one for expression. I create envelopes that bring the respectiive midi data from 0 to 127 and back. When I play back everything works as expected, all midi info is automated and each virtual instrument responds accordingly and as expected.
 
However, when I render/bounce/freeze, the automation lane info is ignored and the result is a sound file without any midi automation. I'm using real-time render/bounce/freeze. Everything is checked (track automation, etc) yet the resulting rending/bounce/freeze does not use the automation lane data.
 
Anyone else have this issue or is able to reproduce this?
