Automation parameters not showing up for one of my synths

I have an instance of Native Instrument's Massive on a track. But when I look for its parameters in an automation lane's edit filter, they're not there. All I have is the usual track parameters (pan, send volume etc) plus all of the ProChannel parameters. But Massive is not there like it should be. 
 
I inserted another instance of Massive as an experiment, and its parameters are there as expected. The only thing I can think which is different about this track is that I loaded Massive as a "replace synth" command (previously it was Kontakt). Thinking there might be a bug associated with Replace Synth, I tested that on a new track but didn't see the same problem. 
 
I really cannot think what can be different about this track that it would fail to show the synth's parameters in an automation lane. Any ideas? 

Does this happen when you use another synth other than massive as replacement synth?
