Automation question on effect bypass button (effect on/off)

Is it possible to automate the effect bypass button ?

I'm using Sonitus Delay, and would like some part of the track with delay on, and some off.

What is the correct approach to do this ?

Thanks!

    AFAIK it isn't.

If I want delay on some parts of a track I split it into clips put the delay in the clip effects bin and then copy it to the clips where I need it.

You could also set up a buss and then automate the send level to that buss. I just find the clip method easier but I guess it depends on how many on/offs you want. The more there is the more I'd lean towards the buss method.

    Thanks FBB.

I'm applying Sonitus delay on soft synth, and after digging in I found that I can automate the Sonitus Delay mix level.
To set it up, at the begining of the track I have to leave some empty measure, so I can first automate the mix to zero (with left / right link set on). Then just fast forward to the part I want the delay, and adjust the mix accordingly.

For the benefits of new users, you will no doubt take a few tries and perhaps delete some effect - only to find that you leave a trace of automation envelope that you see but can't have access to.

This can be "activated" by using the Edit Filter (the drop down selector below the track name). Here is the tricky part.. You will need to move the mouse to "automation" select "delay" (assuming you just used Delay automation (it didn't say the name Sonitus).. and upon highlighting delay, further selection is possible such as left delay, right delay, etc.. and it is color coded.

Each parameter with color code, will have a matching envelop that can be activated - so you can edit or delete this envelop.
