Aux Buss For Instruments?

Hi!

X3 user here.

I'm wondering if there is a way in Sonar X3 to group instruments onto one aux buss channel so I could change say, the volume on all the tracks in that group with just one fader?  For example, I have a string section with 4 instruments each on separate channels.  I like the mix and the EQ and effects on those channels but I decide I want to up the volume on the whole section.  Is there a way to do group those in a way that I can raise the volume on all four channels with just a single fader?

Thanks

John B.

You can use a buss for doing that.  An auxiliary buss in X3 is just a buss named aux.  With Sonar 2016 Platinum you also have aux tracks these can record the output of the audio coming from an instrument.

However I'm not completely sure that my answer is what you are looking for.  You could mean using sends to an aux buss. If so yes you can.

You could also use grouping. Select the all of the tracks you wish to control, then right click on one of the faders and choose a group. Now when you move one fader they will all move.

There is also absolutely nothing wrong with routing the output of all your string tracks to a normal buss and use it's volume fader to control the output of the entire section

It looks like grouping is exactly what I'm trying to do.  Thanks!
