Away - Inthorns(Ron Ladd) in need of some ears & advice

This song goes in a slightly different direction than the usual for me, so I'd really like to know how it's working out.
I've applied the know-how I've learned from you all and am back for more.
Most recently had issues with 'hot' recordings, but think that's been worked out in my process(thanks to you fine folks).
So. . . if you can spare it give me 2:49 & let me know what you think!

Thank you much.
I'm listenin',
               Ron

Well, I'm not one of the fine folks that helped with anything, but I really like this one. :-)  Great tune and great voice.  Lead guitar sounds especially nice.

    Hey guys & gal,
Thanks a lot for the playback!
(it's nice to know someone's listening here and there)
Anything jump out at you, as far as needing some work goes?

PS- Janet, your 'Old Man' is just gorgeous.
Reminds me of one of my favorites Ludovico Einaudi
(You just HAVE to check him out, youtube 'Divenire' if you've not    heard it)

Hi Ron, nice song, well sung, like the guitar parts and solo. good job. This sounds very professional apart from the hiss after the song has finished.

    Greetings, Rik

Thank you, Ron!  :)  I can't believe you mentioned Ludovico Einaudi!!   I just recently heard of him and made him a Pandora station.  If his music is already influencing mine, that's incredible!  :-)

That hiss bugged me a bit as well Rik.
I forgot to throw a quick fade on the vox(I think).
FYI- Your guitar work that I've heard is incredible.

And what can I say of Ludovico. . . . WOW!!
I heard bits & pieces for sure.

All right Rik. . . got that hiss taken care of for us.
It's amazing how after extensive mixing you can miss something so blatantly obvious!
    Craaaazy stuff.

Hi Ron, soundclick doesn't want to load so I'll take your word you fixed it . Thanks for the compliment btw.

    Greetings, Rik

edit : soundclick finally let me listen and i have to say that this sounds to me that it could have commercial potential, not that I would know anything about that but at least you fixed the hiss .

    Why thank you Rik.
If I knew how, I'd definitely look into that potential!

PS- The hiss was actually on one of the distorted guitars!

excellent track and playing dude. a couple of mix points, i'd like the bass a little less boomy and more defined, and the lead guitar which plays motifs behind the vocals needs panning away more from the vocals. got a nice Seattle vibe to it.

    Hi, Ron,

Cool song, well written, great playing and excellent vocals!

I do agree with Mark's comment above, about the bass, because I'm having the same problem myself with getting a more defined bass sound into my tracks.  I'm sure some minor eq surgery and tweaking will be an easy remedy.

    Dynamite job on this!

Mmmm - I thought I'd already commented on this a coupla days ago - I certainly listened. Anyway, what I thought I'd already said was that I really liked the song and the vox - reminded be or Nirvana on a good day ( by which I mean I really liked some of their stuff, but not so keen on some of it either) Something about the bass kind of takes over a little to my ears and could maybe use some eq work, but I'm no expert by any means, so feel free to disregard anything I say -just how I'm hearing it here.
