B Rock, René. somebody, help????

I just got Dimension Pro. I have P5V2, so I already have Dimension. Should I uninstall Dimension before installing Dimension Pro? I remember reading something about this before.

    Hi there,
Typically, I do uninstall Dimension before installing DM Pro (and I've done that like 40-50 times at this point...so many computers)

    Hope that helps.
    Thanks,

I did. No worse for wear. I believe that it was Nick Haddad [Cakewalk] that gave the description on exactly what to do. For sure, back up any customs .progs and .sfz files that you've made. Then uninstall Dimension Semi-Pro. IIRC, there were a few "ghost" subfolders left over. Load up DP, snag the 1.2 update, and pencil in a couple of weeks for the exploration.

I know, I know: I didn't want to uninstall it, either. For comparison purposes. But I haven't had a single problem with any pre-existing projects, and Dimension Pro was constructed in such a way as to make the upgrade (replacement) smooth as silk.

I did not uninstall, Dimension Pro simply overwrote Dimension completely. I can't access the old Dimension at all. It is gone.

Dimension Pro will supercede Dimension in any projects that use it. However if both are installed, it would be wise to make sure you don't have duplicate versions of the original library on your drive. If they are installed in different folders this is likely. Won't hurt anything per se but it will eat up over 3gb of space you could have back.

I checked my DAW to see if that happened. Because I did place the Pro samples on another partition of my c drive. I only want programs there and nothing more. All I could find was the SI strings mini. I want to move that but I have active projects using them in Sonar. It's the 4 cd set and it is large. I may attempt the move and redirect Sonar for these files if that is possible.
