BCF2000 Mackie Emulation Mute/Solo/Record Woes

Hello all,
This forum has been a great help to getting my new Behringer BCF2000 set up and working... From what I understand, the ONLY way to utilize the motorized faders with Sonar is to go into Mackie Emulation mode. Okay, I can handle that. It seems like I'll be a SHIFT function pro in a few days.

BUT

Mute/Solo/Record-Arm do not work. When I hit the keys for these functions, the track Mutes/solos/record-arms, etc for a split second, then turns off. What's worse is that I cannot even set it with the mouse, because it reads from the board, where Mute, etc is off. Maybe I'm not working to board right, maybe I've got it wrong in the software... If anybody knows what is going on, that'd be a great help.

For a little more info, I'm using Sonar 3 PE running the BCF2000 on a MIDI connection.

Thanks!

This works well for me. I am using Sonar 3.1.1 and I hit the Upper shift button and then press the upper channel button for solo, I hit that same channel upper button for mute w/o the shift key. To Arm a track for recording, I press the lower channel button and the upper shift button.

After you apply the mute/solo/arm record, the only ones you will see lit on the BCF 2000 will be the mute on the top row. If you hold down the upper shift key you will see the channels become let for all the ones tha are muted and are solo. The bottom shift key will allow you to use the F1 - F8 finctions on the upper row of channer buttons.

Go to the Behringer site and download the 1.07 firmware but DON"T install it. The download contains the settings for using the BCF2000 in Sonar mode. Just delted the firmware and keep the .PDF file.

Have you updated your Sonar 3.0 to 3.1.1 yet? and hae you updated the BCF2000 to firmware 1.10 yet also ?

    Hope this helps,

    Peace,

    ssssssss

Take out the midi connection and just use the USB connection if you are just using it as a single controller. Make sure you have it listed under Options > Midi Devices as an output and an input.

Well, I had tried the USB connection with no luck... until I realized that I was in standalone mode. Why on earth would they design this thing so you can disable sending commands out USB? Oh well. It works now, and it is great.

I'm also in the process of making a sweet "skin" that you can cut out and put over the buttons on the mixer that lists their functions in Mackie mode. I'll post it on here once I'm done.

HELP! I'm a new BCF-2000 owner, along with Producer 8.53.  I can't find that PDF which lists the Mackie to Behringer correspondences.  i.e. what press on the Behringer activates what function in Sonar.

The link in this thread and one other I consulted in the forums gives me a "redirecting..." message, and doesn't go anywhere.

If someone could email me the PDF, or give me some pointers, I'd really appreciate it!

    thanks
    Chris (chris_s@sympatico.ca)
P.S. I have the surface and Sonar talking to each other, and the simple things work - panning, fader moves etc. I'm trying to go further though, get it working with the Track EQ, sends, other plug-in parameters etc.
