BCF2000 and X1 64bit

Hello.  I just received a BCF2000 as an early Father's Day gift.  I cannot get it to play nice with Sonar.

First I visited Behringer and D/Led  and installed the 64 bit drivers.

I started the BCF200 and placed it into nCSo mode, then started X1.
The unit will not show up in the MIDI I/O list.

If I place the BCF into B-Control (default) mode, the BCF MIDI ports will appear.  It appears I can set it up as a ACT controller from here?

How can I set this up in X1 in Mackie Emulation mode?

Thanks,
Robb

It's been a while since I used a BCF but I have had it working in Mackie mode within a fully x64 environment, as do others here.

IIRC you need to use the Windows driver rather than the one from Behringer but I could be wrong. Try uninstalling it and then allow Windows to detect it and install drivers for it.

Hopefully a current BCF user will jump in with more info and/or correct me.

I am using the BCF in Sonar X1 for a while now. I am very pleased with it, and I can say it works without any problem. At first I struggled a bit with the USB drivers. Especially on a 64 bit system they do not seem too stable for me (nothing severe, but just an rare glitch once in a while - could be the USB cable also). Fortunately I have a ESI Juli@ sound card that has a MIDI input- and output. So when I did a clean installation I ditched the drivers all together and just used the MIDI in/out.

If you want to use the BCF in MIDI only mode be sure to set the modus to stand-alone (S-1). Also make sure you put the BCF in Mackie-Sonar modus (push and hold for a while the 4-th key below rotating knob 4, while turning on the BCF). Also - be sure to set up your BCF as Mackie controller surface in X1. If you do not know how to do this look at this: Blades. This is for an older Sonar, but the set-up in X1 is almost the same (only the set-up screen is in a different place and has a slightly different lay-out).

Mind you - the USB drivers have some extra's, but at this moment I am just lazy and only use the simple set-up for now. I am sure to re-install and test the USB drivers within a few weeks tough

Anyway - as you can see there are at least two possible ways to "connect" your BCF to X1...

Thanks guys! Uninstalling the Behringer drivers did the trick.  Weird.

I have been pressing the 4th button as has been written up on the BCF2000 to get it in the proper mode.  But a couple of days ago I powered it up and forgot to press the 4th button and it came up in the correct mode anyway.  I tried it again yesterday when I was going to run Sonar and it worked OK without pressing button 4.

That's by design, setting the mode is a one time thing. The only time you need to worry about pressing mode buttons again is if you want to change modes.
