BCF2000/BCR2000 Win 7 Public Service Annoucment.

In short:

I run 4 bcf2000s and 3 bcr2000s on my Sonar Daw system. (24 channels,8 busses, 24 per ch. EQ)
I did this with XP using usb and usb hubs with no trouble at all.

I recently upgraded to windows 7 32 bit and had lots of headaches with the latest win 7 Behringer driver with so many devices. I finally gave up an found a way to hook them up via midi but not require 7 ports. This is scantily documented by Behringer so will try to do better.

We are going to gang a bcf and a bcr together but not use usb at all.

First set both the bcr2000 and bcf2000 to mode S3 and give one an ID of 1 and the other an ID of 2
Now you may set the bcf2000 to McSo emulation if desired.

Now to cable up:

Midi out from a midi interface goes to BCF#1 (midi in)
The BCF#2 OUT port-A goes to the BCR#2 (midi in)
The BCR#1 OUT port-A goes back to the midi interface (midi in)

You could do this with two bcr2000s as well or two bcf2000s too. But Not in McSo mode.

I found the Behringer Windows 7 driver to be a royal pain when many devices are connected.
I can hook my 7 units up using 4 ports that I already had unused.

Addendum: It may be possible to cascade even more units. I will try.
