BIAS Desktop FX from Positive Grid... anyone else using it yet?
I stuck to GTR5 for so long, it was necessary for any rival to, at the very least, provide me with dual amp capability. BIAS FX has done that, and more. Fantastic amp modeling, sweet FX. Has anyone else tried it yet? https://store.positivegrid.com/
Sonar Platinum, Win10 64bit, i5 with 32gb ram, 480gb SSD C drive, 240gb SSD scratch drive, 2tb Cakewalk project drive, dual 24" monitors, M-Audio M-Track Quad, Event TR8 monitors, Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro headphones, lots of guitars and other toys.

Since we(2 man 5 piece studio band) started recording, we stopped using most pedals. We get our tone from the amp sim, and add a touch of reverb and delay. I do have Bias Desktop, but we ended up using Craig's Led Spread.....and it works well for us.

I own Bias Desktop and like it...but adding dual amp capabilities and pedals does NOT, IMO, constitute an "entirely new product"... They want $99 for FX and $199 for FX Pro, with NO upgrade option for existing users...as they consider this an entirely NEW product...which is crap because they used the currently program and merely "added to it"....which, IMO, is an UPGRADE, not a NEW product...but obviously some disagree...YMMV

The more I use BIAS AMP Pro and BIAS FX Pro, the more I like it, straight out the sound is just awesome. It's looking like it will take over from my fav and long time go to TH2 (Full), which nothing else has done to date, it has the same comprehensiveness, everything you need in the one top notch package as TH2 did, and for mine is another level up from everything else out there in vst land. I have BIAS Amp Pro, BIAS FX Pro, TH2(Full), Vandal, Recabinet 4, all Kuassa's stuff, TSE's stuff, Mercuriall, GTR3, all Studio Devil's stuff, Revalver 3/3.5/4, S-Gear 2, Ignite Amps stuff, LaPou, Guitar Rig 3/5, Amplitube 3 (everything), AmpLion Pro, and probably stuff I can't recall, and the Positive Grid BIAS stuff to me is just at another level, it sounds so good. All kinds of Awesomeness from Monday to Sunday

You should sell some of the gear you don't use now you have Bias. There's a few dollars/pounds/euros/ducats/chickens right there.

lol, no, I never sell anything, plus most of it has it's uses where it suits better than anything else, not used often, but glad to have it when needed. Things like AmpLion Pro, Amplitube 3 and Guitar Rig I like to keep around as a reminder of bad some things really are , next PC upgrade cycle they will disappear never to return, I use to hold out hope for Guitar Rig, that's why I stayed in the upgrade loop, but alas I don't think it will ever be any good IMO.

A quote from one of the BIAS people It's a brand new program with brand new audio engine, so it is a new purchase. Thanks for your interest!
So there are somewhat more changes etc perhaps than you think or are alluding to, just read that today.

Sonar received a BRAND NEW AUDIO ENGINE...they did NOT consider it a BRAND NEW PRODUCT it was an UPGRADE. Many programs get brand new audio engines, but they are STILL considered upgrades. Positive Grid is SCAMMING...that's all...and it's going to cost them.... You may think somehow that that's ok...I don't...just as I don't think what IK did with SampleTank is ok... But, as I stated, you are entitled to your opinion, as I am to mine...

Yes that's fair enough ( not the rest off the twaddle). . . Well . . . I'll enjoy an AWESOME product, while you enjoy your AWESOME ethical position . . . I know which one will be more fun . . .

Apparently 95% of all others who own the product feel the same way as I do judging from the responses at the Positive Grid Website and their Facebook Page...so much so that they are "reconsidering" their position of this being a "new product" ...
So I'm certainly not alone...but I guess when you have $400 to just throw away it doesn't matter...
As for me, they've lost a customer...as "Ethics" is very important in EVERY sense... hence my disdain for Companies that do this kind of thing (such as PG and IK)
Enjoy!
