Huh, I didn't think you could even use 32 bit drivers on an x64 system.



That's correct, you can't. 32 bit application software yes, but all hardware devices need 64 bit drivers on a 64 bit version of Windows.

The bits that lead me to think it is 32 bit drivers being used:
   The EMU files are installed into program files (x86)
   Crashes identified the culprit as HA10KX2K.sys found in the system32\drivers folder
     WhoCashed reported it was the ha10kx2k.sys file
        mostly it seemed to refer to the MIDI driver
         I have a note that the WDM driver was listed at least once
 
HA10KX2K.sys is identified as being the HAL  WDM driver.
 
I do not have a current minidump so I cannot describe what other info was available.
I think I have not had a crash since I installed the new OS disk in September.
