BUG report accepted - Metronome (record) not responding correctly to preference setup

X1b with quickfix 246. Metronome set to audio.

At the preference - metronome setup for playback/recording:

Let's say metronome for recording is currently checked, after unchecking it, the metronome will still sound when I hit record. It will only be turned off during recording if I check playback.

Whereas during playback, after unchecking the playback metronome, it will respond correctly.

Is this a known issue, and can someone duplicate it ?

Referring to above, playback may seems correct after un checking playback metronome, but the metronome will now be turned on during recording, even though it is not checked (record).

I see this problem as well, but only for the count in measures time.  if the count in measures setting is set to something other than 0 and you had the recording metronome on, then turn it off, then hit record on the transport, it will sound during the count in measures then turn off.

you can also turn it off if you start the playback metronome and then off again.

if you have the count in measures turned to 0 then the problem doesn't happen.

Beagle, thanks for pointing out the count-in measure. I'm new to X1, and not realizing the count-in. Yes, setting count-in to zero produce the correct response.

With the count-in set to none zero, it is not a bug, just some inconsistency.  For example uncheck playback and uncheck recording, the metronome will click during count-in recording (silent at actual recording). Check playback and uncheck recording, the motronome will not click at recording count in (silent at actual recording).

Not a real problem.. now how do I cancel the bug report.. ?

Edit : I have submitted a new report pointing out the inconsistency of count-in, with a reference to cancel the previous report.

Yeah the metronome F3 doesn't work correctly. Hopefully fixed on the 'next' update...

    Cheers.

    ...snip

The intended behavior is that you will hear the Metronome if you have a count-in set, regardless of if the metronome is enabled for "Playback" or "Recording". Without hearing the metronome during the count in, you have no way of determining when recording will start.

There is a bug exposed here however. The error here is that the count-in metronome is not audible when enabling "Playback" as described above in your step 5. This explains the inconsistency.
