Baby Please Don't Go ...

Hi all,
"Baby Please Don't Go" is a tune that I've always loved in it's many unique individualized variations
my performance is a solo acoustic "improvised  guitar video " that I just did tonight
(a couple of days ago a friend of mine named Wayne gifted me w a Zoom Q 3 )

the gear rundown is pretty simple ,
I'm playing an Art & Lutherie Ami parlor acoustic guitar via a finger style approach
the video and recording was captured using only the Q3 & on board mics
my audio track was then sent into SONAR 6 PE
no plugs or effects were used on the audio track other than a single  compressor to even out some of the peaks & levels ..
( MPL-1 )....

Baby Please Don't Go
http://youtu.be/UHsNNtYivJo

I sincerely hope that you enjoy the guitar playing , it's my typical loose in the corners type of solo guitar work that seems to be a slow cook

as far as my "current look" go's I haven't drank booze in decades , to ease the pain you might have to give your computer monitor a few drinks to ease the fugly

Kenny

I love the version of this track that John Lennon does, unfortunatly I can't recognize the track from what you are playing.

No matter WOW that is some guitar playing, I try and play that fast but my playing would come accross as noodling compared to how you play and you play with your fingers!!!

All I can say is brilliant and maybe I will meet you at the Crossroads one day with all the other bluesman.

    Peace Ben

I did a similar "but slightly different version of the song?" Entitled "Get the **** out!!! NOW! LEAVE NOW YOU ***ING *****!

It's not what you'd call a love song? But it is from the heart?

It's from back in the day when I used to write with Sam Kinison? In fact? I think he came up with the title?

Hi James, I'm really glad my video brought a big smile to your face.
I dig playing over an  old school tune w such a history , it is nice to be here talking w you
thanks for the kind words on my guitar playing that's how I like to play when I'm kicking back & trying to relax

I see you remember the time Lucy started chewing a squeaky toy while I was trying to do a vid
Lucy has been doing pretty good for an old gal , she is now 14 and I'm doing everything I can to keep her comfortable in her elder years & manage her pain levels
I fed her pretty good before I started playing , she slept through the whole thing

Kenny, good to see and hear from you.
You look to be enjoying yourself as much as it always sounds when I hear you play.
I've got a lot more salt than pepper in my beard, too.
I also got a kick out of the video markno999 linked to. Tasty little medley, and I got a chill when the bit from "A tear for you" came around. Man, I love that song.

Hi bayoubill,  I'm grateful  that you listened 3 times .
    thank you

    Hi Rik ,
    I'm glad you enjoyed it

    Hi Daryl,
I might of missed roll call , but oh yeah I'm still here ,
to be able to play again feels good
I'm glad you enjoyed my acoustic blues playing

Hi Tap, is your Norman a parlor guitar ? I like parlor guitars , they are good for finger style
    thank you for the listen

Hi bandontherun 19, thank you man  for the listen & the double dip

Hi Bob O , I'm glad you enjoyed the playing , thank you for giving me a nice welcome back

Hi there Steve , it feels good to be appreciated by you and few of the fellas here on the forum
after going over some of the various clips i did that night ,
I can tell you that Mastery took a vacation on most of them
on this clip I did get lucky ,
it seems that the Muse threw me a little bone to keep me on the hook

Hi Beagle , I've been doing OK , I took a break from recording .
since June i have been  playing out a 2 to 4  times a week in bars & clubs
2 local groups enlisted me as a featured guest doing Rock, Pop , Blues & Country .
it was nice to be playing live again as a sideman , it's something I really enjoy doing
a few weeks ago I wound up scaling back to one night a week
I play w the house band as a guest member of the band at an open Jam
it's a lot of fun to play w these musicians  , we do an hour set & then open it up to the jammers

the Zoom I have is the Zoom Q3. this is the older one .
imho I like the way the mic sounds
I've seen them go for about a hundred new and a little less for used on Amazon
some folks have criticized that it has no mic  input for external mics , also the Q3 only has 3 input stages for the stereo mic ,
the input switch control is set for auto set , high, and low for the record input level
as a gift as far as I'm concerned it fits my needs perfectly , it's super easy to use , sounds good  and takes a decent somewhat clear video for u tube

the updated Zoom Q3 Hd has addressed those issues by having a mic input & adjustable level setting .
the Q3 Hd  cost around 3 bills , I'm sure it's worth it for someone that happens to have the money

    oh before i forget ,
thank you for giving my video a listen and commenting favorably

Hi Robert, it is very nice to hear from you again ,
    Oh Yeah ,
having a salt and pepper beard means my age has gone up and my automobile driving has slowed down
if I want to go fast & have a little excitement there's always the guitars fretboard
Robert, I hope all is well for you and your loved ones
thank you for enjoying the videos
