Back To Lonely

Here's another one from Doug and Amanda. Doug played rhythm acoustic guitar to a click track, which he couldn't stay with consistently, so he was a bit all over the place but I did the best I could with what I had to work with.

Beautiful recording and instrumental performances Scotty. If these people aren't family? I hope they paid you! You have her mixed up a bit to high for me. He seems about right? But when they sing together, I hear her stronger. Sometimes, WAY stronger. It's a good song, I'll refrain from commenting on the other bits. But he did a better job here IMO(better than the last one.) I would make her a little wetter w/verb too.

Finally, a production crit, in places, I would add a 2 or 3 part harmony? like "Gone with the wind?"

Scotty, I really like what you have done - her voice is really good, but to be honest - I don't really care for his voice.

Other than his vocals - this is a really cool tune.

I agree. NOBODY can stand his vocals. My wife tells me the mix is perfect once I mute his track. LOL

I like the song.... the instrumentation is pretty nice... signature licks from you for sure.

    My 3 nits are:

the time/speed changes..... I didn't like that at all.

The timing issues are noticeable but acceptable...

and finally, the big one to me, the fact that these 2 singers sing unison...... they need to bust loose on some harmony...the genre screams for harmonies.

:-) It's what I do with music I care about, when I see it with zero posts, I count myself lucky? A lot of others will see something with zero posts by me? And that's just fine by them? And they call themselves Christians too?  I try not to be a judgmental hypocrite like them? The good book has bad things to say about people who judge (like them.) I try not to judge others harshly.

I did enjoy your tune. Your musicianship is "on full display..." It jumps out out you!! Like a man in a raincoat?

Hi Scott, I don't even mind the male vocals as much as the timing issues . I thought you maybe should lose the percussion, only highlights the timing issues . And if all else fails, pick up that guitar-synth and play that lovely sax sound, really loud, really.

Some timing issues in some places, but it is a lovely piece.  I think Amanda's voice is fine for this country song.  Nice arrangement and really enjoyed the song.

I didn't care for the guy's voice at all. Not that it was bad, it just didn't fit in anywhere.

    The chick is okay.

You Queen-solo was terrific. I am going to have remember how good you are at it and do something with you when i get the inspiration.

    Hi Scotty,

Nice job on this!  All your parts are outstanding, as always.  Are you playing piano, too?  Very nice!

I don't seem to dislike Doug's voice as much as some others do but some harmony
in the chorus would be nice.

    Great playing, man!

The instruments were grand as always. I like the tune and didn't mind his vox as much on this one, she gave a pretty good performance IMO. I have to agree, Doug is the weak link in the chain here. I got to hand it to you, must be difficult to take pride in a production when you know you can't fix what needs fixed. Too bad, he writes some good stuff and you've done a fine job with what you have.

Hey Scotty don't freakout I logged in as Radio , my password worked for me this time .
I ended up having to reinstall Windows XP all over again , what a PAIN !!
Six hours to reinstall and update my Windows XP , all of those updates for XP takes forever to download and install .

The reason for reinstalling again is because of the NERO software I installed on the first install .
It totally messed up everything when I tried to install Addictive Drums into my Project 5 .

Hope your having fun with the song , can't wait to hear what you added to the song .

    Cheers ! Radio
