Back on Earth
So, I was asleep in bed, minding my own business, dreaming of becan, when it happened. The planet slipped out from under me. It's tried this before. Once, I jumped into a lake and the Earth tried to escape. That really hurt when I finally caught up. Another time, I fell out of a tree when the planet stopped spinning for a brief moment. There's the whole Bike/Tree/Ramp/Gravity Incident, too, but we all agreed not to speak of it again. Anyway, I woke up to see the Earth racing away from me, giggling. It's not easy trying to catch up with a planet that is doing its best to get away. I didn't exactly have my usual supplies for space travel. I had my Masters of the Universe undershreddies, but I didn't think that would be much help in generating propulsion. I finally figured I would just hang out and wait for Earth to come back around in another year. I would really miss becan, though. Fortunately for me, I caught a break. Actually, I caught a ride on Bing's Tour Bus. Well, "Caught a Ride" might be misleading. It ran me down. I was a hood ornament. It's not like I had any choice in the matter. I was stuck. Well, I had dented the front end so badly, that it had wrapped around me on either side. Bing's pilot tried everything to knock me loose. I didn't mind the high G maneuvers so much. The "Scrape him off on the Moon" thing was a little rough, though. He finally tried to burn me up in re-entry. While his attempt mostly failed, I did sweat enough that I finally slipped out of the dent. I made my way back to bed where I was told that I really needed a shower. The bottom line is that there's good news and bad news. The bad news, of course, is that I'm back and I've got a firm grip on the planet now. The good news, however, is that Bing had to go and have repairs done before he can return to conquer Earth. His manager insisted that he couldn't show up with the hood of his ride dented in the shape of Bubba's hindquarters. So, you can take your pick. "Sorry" or "You're Welcome". It all depends on your point of view, I suppose.

I'm working on it. I'm at a little over 87,000 words so far. It features far too many characters with an absurd amount of storylines. No publisher in their right mind would tolerate it. There are some minor characters that are in a band (no resemblance to anyone in particular), and they just had a gig (sort of). I enjoyed it. Right now, some of the storylines are converging, leading up to the end. Well, it's a type of end, anyway. I can't wait to finish it.

Welcome back, Bubba. Did they ever find that hood ornament? It might be time for a colonoscopy. Looking forward to that best-seller.

You got hit by a vehicle while you were asleep in bed and dreaming of becan? Sounds like the forum could be worse than getting hit by a truck.

There's a lot of that going around. The unbounded feeling. Perhaps the rapture malfunctioned due to cell phone interference.
