"musicjohnnie" Will there be any prochannel options? "John" No. John, are you saying (indirectly) that when a new Pro Channel plugin becomes available for X2, that it will not be available for X1? I can understand locking a proprietary plugin to a specific DAW, but locking it for a specific version of said DAW makes no sense to me at all. Now I don't believe this is what you're saying and will assume that I'm wrong in my interpretation. Right?

I think the 'No' was for updates. It wouldn't make much sense for any future PC modules to not work within X1. Of course some of those in X2 are X2 only for licensing reasons but I'd imagine any new releases will be available for both...... it increase the market as much as anything. Of course I'm just assuming - I could be way off.

Maybe the OP has X1 Producer and not X1 Producer Expanded. If that is the case, the ProChannel module addons will not work in that version.

i'd be surprised but happy if there were any more updates for x1 - if there were, i'd expect it'd be an update to support newer pc modules for sale rather than fix existing bugs

FastBikerBoy Of course some of those in X2 are X2 only for licensing reasons hi karl, do you expect the, e.g., overloud stuff (th2 & breverb) not to work in x3?

Who knows... I would expect compatibility going forward but not necessarily backwards. Then again I don't negotiate the licensing deals for CW so what do I know.

pwal furry muff ;) [/stalker off] It's a good question though. I wonder whether stuff like Guitar Rig worked in earlier versions? I did use the original Revalver from V2 in later versions. I think that gave up when I went 64-bit at V7. Pity - I really liked that.

That a really really good point. VST vs Pro channel plugs. VST generally always backwards compatible, but are Pro Channel? When I install X3 or X4 or even X5 will I have to spend money upgrading some Pro channel plugins? Chances are most VST's will still probably work until we go 128 bit ;).
