Backlit Sonar Keyboard
Need a new keyboard and decided to go with this. I just can't seem to muster the discipline to get much use out of keyboard shortcuts. Hopefully this helps like training wheels. It was designed for X3, I'm guessing not much has changed in keyboard commands? I was able to pick one up for $89.00 refurbished. I could have got a cheaper one that wasn't backlit, but I be stylin' like Mr. Spock now. https://www.editorskeys.com/sonar-x3-backlit-keyboard/ Only question. Any notable keyboard command changes from X3 to Splat?

That looks pretty nice. I have a keyboard which was made for X1 (which isn't backlit). I really like being able to see the shortcuts. I was wondering if any updated keyboards had been made for Sonar.

Nice looking keyboard. The website shows the standard, non-backlit Sonar keyboard is $39. The description below the photographs indicate the shortcuts are valid for X3, Pro and Platium.

I like it, gives off very nice light. Not quite as bright as the picture. Only downside for me is, I have to wear reading glasses to read the text.

Too bad, that's a deal-killer for me. If I wear my reading glasses, the screen is blurry. Guess I'll have to stick with touch-typing. I'm a nut for keyboard shortcuts anyhow, being a dinosaur who started with Cakewalk 1.0 back in ancient times when most computers didn't even have a mouse. What I hate is software that makes you do everything with the mouse. Or worse, that randomly re-arranges the keyboard shortcuts with each major release.

There's been tons of keyboard shortcut changes throughout the X series. Not sure how many between X3 and Sonar Platinum.
Easy enough to check with the manuals.

SONAR and MS Word were the two applications I was thinking of that went out of their way to inconvenience speed-keyboardists.

This is the main reason I'd never buy something like this. Shortcuts change all the time. $10 for stickers won't bother me if things change, but the cost of this thing is way over the top to begin with. If shortcuts change or get added, I'd be pissed. Even with the ability to manually change them

The major cost would surely be down to the keyboard being backlit. A $10 set of stickers to update the keys if necessary wouldn't be too bad.

I just read the write up on this keyboard and it mentions Sonar X3e as well as Sonar Artist, Professional and Platinum so obviously the keyboard shortcuts between these versions hasn't changed. Great news but now they want $129.99. Pretty steep price.
