Bandlab Communities

Recently Bandlab added the ability to create communities which IMO is great. I created 1
https://www.bandlab.com/community/songfeedback
For people who want mix/performance/arrangement help and criticism. This is a new feature, but it hasn’t been advertised anywhere, so I thought I’d give people a heads up.

Meng - Communities can’t easily be found through search. Whenever I search for my community nothing comes up. The same for common terms like jazz, metal, etc. of course maybe they don’t exsist yet, but I’m thinking its a bug.

Hopefully this feature will get rid of the improper categories problem. You can just create or join a community in the genre you enjoy and listen to things in that community. If you start getting spam, just make posts “members only”. I think this will improve the Bandlab experience.

I don't, know but maybe there is a reason things are as they are. I see there are now only 2 featured comunities, the "Wake" is gone. I joined all, and couldn't get fast enough out of the latter. My in box was rapidly filling up with promotions. I think in a world without genres and genders, any community stands the risk of rapidly being filled up with self promoters who don't participate in the community in any other way. So it is maybe a better way to have it grow by word of mouth.

I don’t want communities to turn into a spam dump, but I still think people should be able to find them. I think you can actually remove people from a community, so hopefully that helps. If community owners can erase posts things will be perfect.

I think I see what you mean. I have more faith in a moderated community with semi dictatorial powers of the community creator to ensure that it functions according to it's original intention. I'm just afraid that if it is to easily accessible, it will quickly be swamped ... and moderation can become very time consuming. Look at Hip-Hop - Promos with close to 8000 members ... can you imagine to moderate that community and still have time to focus on creating music ?  I'm not against what your suggesting, I'm just having a cautious approach.
I think the Song Feedback Forum is a very good idea, and would like to see more members in it as well.
