Hendrix. He's really the only one. All the rest? A blu-ray works better for me. No traveling. No people I don't care to be around. I can enjoy more than once. Just more value in my time and money than dealing with the public while trying to enjoy a musical performance. That opinion was made many, many years ago.

ZZ Top (missed them at Blues Passions)
Saw ZZ Top twice, first time was the 'Afterburner' tour at Wembley. They played a perfunctory 50 minute (!) set, never said a word to the audience, walked off, house lights came up, no encore. Never found out what that was all about. 2nd time was at Milton Keynes Bowl ('Recycler' was out) headlining with Bryan Adams, Thunder, The Law and Little Angels - completely different vibe, 2 hour set, loads of banter and energy, 3 encores.

Hi, None really. As I have stated before I have only had a desire for seeing the likes of Mike Oldfield, Peter Hammill (w/ or wo/ VdGG), Ryuichi Sakamoto and Vangelis. As much as I like many of those bands mentioned here, so few of the European bands that SHOULD have made it to America never did ... so I never had the chance. Only one I missed would have been Mani Neumeier with that one thrash band, and I would have interviewed him ... other than that I'm good. I saw enough to know the difference.

The one band I wanted to see was Led Zepplin. They came to Philly on the night our school was holding graduation. My buddy and I were going to ditch the cap and gown thing, get wasted and go see Zep. Our mom's threw a fit and we went to get our diplomas. Bummer dude. I saw ZZ Top 3 times. Taking Texas to the People, Deguello, and Recycler. Great shows every time. Hate that I've never seen most of the better country acts,

Was always gutted that I never got to see Frank Zappa live. And probably Little Feat. One of the all time greatest live bands (with Lowell George) and I'll only ever hear a recording.

Biggest regrets are the opportunities I blew off for stupid reasons. I was living in Nebraska when the Beatles came to Omaha. Back then we attended a lot of "road shows", where you'd get 10 bands who'd each do 15-minute sets and admission was $2.00. When the Beatles came to town they charged the unheard-of price of $5.00 and there wasn't even an opening act. Five bucks in those days was a night out, including dinner, movie and gasoline. I said I'll catch them next year, after their popularity has waned and they'd come to their senses on ticket prices. More recently, I skipped a chance to see Nightwish in Seattle - because it was raining. Because it was raining! In Seattle!
All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to. My Stuff

I hear ya Dave.... no one likes to go out in the rain. And ticket prices.... I would have loved to see the Eagles live, and they did come around on tour often enough. However, everyone else was charging $40 for a show and the Eagles boxoffice prices were $250.... sorry Glen and crew, that's out of my price range. @ tix for $500 plus fees is more than I care to part with for a 1 to 2 hr show. Back in the day...... Black Sabbath with Ozzie ( they had their first US album out) and 2 opening act bands, cost $3.... It don't get better than that..... figuratively speaking.

The Eagles never made my list because they were the band that started ridiculous prices for concerts. I remember it well as Guitarhacker describes. U2 was $20 as were most bands that came to Toronto. Then the Eagles show up and sell out venues at $100+. That was the beginning of the end of my concert attendance. Now, shows sell out in seconds and most of the seats go to re-sellers who jack the prices even more. I started buying concert DVD's and never looked back. $500 to see Taylor Swift?! I'd rather stick a fork in my eye.
