You just know it's not The Hofner Bass. It's a Hofner bass that he signed. Prolly the same model that The Fab Faux sell in their merch booth. $750 for a $350 bass with their signatures. Granted theirs is NOT signed by Sir Paul but when you look at it that way, the buyer of Sir Paul's bass spent $63,650 for an autograph.

Got me four of those autograph things back in 1963 on a program.  The program cost pennies and the autograph things were free just stood in the right place. Yes its Paul's, Ringo's, John and Georges.

Did you watch them sign it or was it already signed?

In 1964 I could replicate all four of their signature. I practiced hard for weeks on on end. Wonder if I could still do it?

That Bass has no value whatsoever - look what I found in his bins

When you've got his sort of money....

I am guessing after paul put his bass through the ceiling in this video he figured - time to auction it

as his band and keyboard player "Wix"  announces   "the thing is ... it's not very expensive and it's an iconic instrument"

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z-n-Dlj-iz4

so there you have it - the reason why he auctioned it off

    Color me jealous.

BTW, did they sign it in mono or stereo?
