There are (among others)"47", "67" and "87" type capsules for this.. Is the capsule enough?

You can replace the capsule or pre-amp, or both.  Replacing both is not exactly a mod,  you salvage the shell and basket then throw away everything else...  replacing with your choice of capsule and new pre-amp (which you have to build, so I hope you can solder well.)

I might start with just the capsule for now, and upgrade the rest at a later date.

I've been playing some geetarz today, and still like the S-Gear quite a bit
I've got to record geetarz for the next album (the Synth Pop band I play in) this week as well, so all rehearsal is good.
Might even use amp sims on this album.

I had to take a break from it for a while, but that's it.
I've gotten to play 50+ concerts in a few countries as well

We played 13 concerts in 14 days in Germany in 2001, 3 months after I joined the band
We had to drive from city to city from gig to gig. And they were never close to each other 
None of us spoke (much) German, and we didn't have sat nav
