Drew mentioned a while back that it was a "cookies" thing and that sounds logical. I have things set up to not allow every durned cookie (or other junk) every site tries to stuff up my computorbs cornhole and also use script/ad blockers. This has been happening to me for years now (ever since they changed the forum format/version... the big change that PRECEDED all the SSO stuff).

I'm guessing that if I rode the forum barebacked it might not happen.

More like a downgrade.  I've made this domain a trusted domain so that cookies should be allowed.  Not sure what to try next...  It could be that APG needs a fix to accommodate the new "update" - who knows?

This forum software has so many gremlins really who knows what the fart it's up to.

I'm just glad it stopped eating posts all the time with it's stupid "error" nonsense back in the day.

That was extremely annoying considering I tend to be... let's say... verbose in some of my communiques.

Think and type for a half hour only to have it all hoovered up and dissappeared. Made Beepo a little cray cray.

I actually searched on the SFS site and apparently there's some kind of database update thingy on the back end that has to run - but I'm not sure what it's using to match things up with individual users or at what level of granularity it updates.

In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

I have no idea what any of that means (i'm a dummo who needs things explained... at least at first) BUT do you think maybe the weird drifting forum clock issues are related?

Seriously... what kind of computerized clock loses time at such a drastic rate?

And your post seems to be saying that for whatever reason there is a totally separate system keeping track of timestamps/post order.

Could it simply be some donkey of a computer/server in a back room that should have been replaced/updated in 1995 is handling this stuff?

Ok....sorry to break this up, but there seems to be some discussions going on that's completely breaking the FSF COC. If these discussion continues on it's upward path, consequences are to be had.
