I've got 13 TB of data

That's a lot of data

Most of it (90+%) is uncompressed music (primarily .FLAC) or 192 kbps .mp3's.

I'm finding this ''40,000 books'' thing mildly interesting.

For example;

40,000 books would weigh about 10 metric tons. Where would you put them?

How would anyone amass that amount of books? If you started when you were 10, and lived till 80, you'd have to buy 570 books a year.

Why would anyone own more books than it's humanly possible to read in 3-4 lifetimes?

I think he means 4,000.

After getting all the CD's ripped to hard drives (two years plus?), I first started importing to iTunes as 192kbps, but that became incredibly, stupidly slow after about 30,000 songs.  Then I learned about MediaMonkey and moved everything over to that.  With the rest, I started at Z going backwards (after importing all of my Psytrance) and am currently working on the "L's."  Once finally done (by the year 2027?), I should have over 300,000 songs in there all with the same formatting and tagged for easy group shuffle play (or exporting to one of my iPOD's).

My media player is compatible with lots of other things so I should be able to use it with smart TV's, stream music to DNLA devices, etc.

Yay.

The attacks are getting shorter, so I hope that's a sign that they're on their retreat..

Has that been the pattern in the past?

I've always thought these migraines were quick attacks that didn't last long(er) than a few days.....but, for months?? Wow, that's got to be tough.

At least, it's good to hear you get some instant relief from the pain meds......and then comfortably numb?

That has usually been the pattern But I've been fooled before...
Yeah, it REALLY SUCKS when it lasts for weeks / months!
Unfortunately there is not much comfortably numb. At best numb...

I mean a "library" like the name of a particular room in a mansion, like this:

In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.
