When on tour many moons ago we experienced almost EXACTLY this scene... except instead of beer it was assorted cheese products. Being mid tour (and almost ALL of the clubs decided to ignore the "one free meal per gig" part of our rider) we were of course starving. We parked off the highway and ran up to the scene where there were many road workers shoveling up all the cheesywhatsits into a disposal truck. Looking like the haggard bunch psychopaths we were of course there was a bit of momentary concern but we politely asked if we could abscond with some of the delicious curdlied up milk to which they laughed and said "Go for it". We quickly filled our pockets (of which we had many) and cheese papooses hastily crafted with our shirts with any sealed packages we could find. Oh I tell you my dear lads... it was an absolutely bunghole cloggering feast of cheese, cheese and more cheese for many days after that. good times... good times.
