One of the housing associations have just given me exclusive information on a couple of DETACHED 2 bedroom houses they will have soon, and they havnt even started marketing them yet. They just need to assess my application and I need to view the area asap.

Yay!

Well I got offered the house I wanted, pending a successful character reference which I will sort out getting next week, but I did a bit of reading into the company building the house and it does not look like good news ...

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3030609/Flooding-2ft-holes-damp-Householders-newly-built-dream-homes-discover-like-hell-suffering-months-problems.html

But any snagging and repairs stuff would be handled via the housing association not the builder, so it should be fine, and the second bedroom has no shared walls so Im planning on getting soundproofing in its inner walls so I can start recording in privacy (one of the biggest reason I dont get much done is because of no privacy to practice / rehearse).

Yum yum (joined to the next house along the left hand side, Im getting the mirror image version, hopefully):

Im still applying for and going to look at the detached one that I have an application in for, but its built on a main road with a school so I think there will be too much noise, and its a lot tinier matchbox sized so Id rather get this much less expensive semi and pay for soundproofing instead, and its in a quiet all green and beautiful suburb with easy bus routes to Leeds, Wakefield and Dewsbury. The longer walls in each bedroom are like 4.6 and 4.1 metres, so not a matchbox, and its still cheaper than most other matchbox size terraced houses. Edit - found an image with measurements.

You complain about getting a "free" house, while I'm working my butt off (sometimes seven days a week) just to pay for a 9' x 11' bedroom (and use of parts of the kitchen) along with my $1,000 car...

Re: All your TOTP's belong to Craig! 2017/06/18 00:25:01 (permalink)
Sorry. Freeeeeee house! Not my fault my last employer sneakily got rid of me for being too slow :(

I was just researching the builder and they have loads of negativity, but the site looks beautiful.

Its mostly a high end site with loads of 4 bed detached houses, but with two clusters of semi and terraced houses sold through affordable homes schemes (Guvment policy for most new housing sites to also include affordable homes).

And this one was the best one and site I could possibly have gotten on shared ownership. I am happy, I should stop researching horror stories about the builder lol.

But I cant drive due to perma drowsiness so no car expenses and a free bus pass. 5 min walk to a bus stop to Leeds, 15 min walk to one to Wakefield from this house.

After my bad luck with my last job, my employment advisors recommended  I try getting voluntary receptionist work at the NHS to try and eventually land reception or admin work. I will look into that after Ive moved, my brain would melt if I had to work and sort out housing stuff at the same time, and I still need to get stronger meds, quite literally adderall which GPs in the UK wont prescribe to adults cos they think I only want it to get high.

Oooh, now Im wondering if soundproofing would actually count as a reasonable adjustment for a hearing impaired musician lol. I also emailed action against hearing loss to ask.

I was also needing more voice minutes because my current 200 mins arent enough for all my current and eventual housing and finance related calls.

Upgrading my current plan to unlimited mins was £32 pm (all you can eat mins, texts data, 30 gb hotspot).

But on existing customer offers they had all you can eat mins, texts and 4 gb hotspot for just £10 pm, and my current plan with 200 mins and 30 gb data is £22, so same cost with 4 gb more data across two lines.

Then when I eventually have my own broadband or fibre, I can cancel the £22 pm one, so I'll continue having unlimited mins for just £10. Nice plan.
