Good evening, lads I've been playing some geetar, and playing with amp sims for a couple of hours. Not too crazy about any of the amp sims I have, so I downloaded the UAD Marshall 2555 (what I used to have). Compared it to the IKM Slash 2555, and the UAD was way closer in sound. Not good enough to buy it, though. The search continues

Mesh Anyone know how to play marbles?
The way we used to play it was to find a patch of dirt, gouge out a marble sized hole/dent with our fingers, scatter our marbles on the "playing field" (AKA the patch of dirt) then try to flick/nudge our own marbles into the hole (giggety). Generally you could only use one finger (again giggety) to launch your marbles. There was also pre-arranged marble gambling that took various forms. They were like little soldiers/betting chips. Some were easier to launch/sink and (to us kids) had different values depending on the size, weight and aesthetic of the marble in question (plain/standard size marbles which were like pawns then you had Cat's Eyes, Swirlies, Crokers, Jumbo Crokers, Steelies (which were essentially just steel ball bearings), Mirrored/Gassy, etc. The winner would generally take the other kid's marble(s) based on the prearranged bet. IIRC we referred that as "Playing for Keepsies". There used to be a few brawls over the results too. lol Good times. Good times.

Have you checked if GR5 or BIAS AMP Pro (you can match/build the tone of the amp you want) has anything to offer? I don't have BIAS AMP (just the FX Pro), but I've heard good things about their amp matching feature.

Mesh Anyone know how to play marbles?
Some people used to make a circle on the ground then put the smaller marbles inside and use the larger ones (called "shooters") to try and knock the smaller ones out of the circle (you got to keep those). We never played that way. Instead we used to just throw them at each other. Easier and more satisfying (at least for guys like me who threw everything fast and on target that is!).

I went for the gold. (Note that the 1960's slant-stack on the left is real and the 1979 JMP head above it was modded by Mike Soldano to have an extra pre-amp stage. The full-stack on the right is a fake used on stage for fun.)
