Heh, just had to deal with three of those little varmints last night.  They were raiding the birdfeeder.  Shining a flashlight while zapping them with a water bottle (set for "stun") had an amazing effect on their exit speed - lol!  One didn't even slow down to make the left turn at the end of the handrail opting instead to fly out over the pond making a mighty splash, followed by some coon cussing as he climbed out and raced through the neighbors backyard.
 
I think I finally made a lasting impression on them, they were pretty apathetic to my roaring "Hey!  I'm a BEAR!" act.
