When I'm not feeling well, I'd rather be at work. I get to share the misery and make it look like I'm a team player willing to go that extra mile. Of course, I'm hoping they force me to go home where you KNOW I'm going to take that extra day off after I feel well so I can enjoy it.
This used to be called "Craig's Rule of Two" by my work friends and it goes like this: If you only take one day off, management thinks you probably weren't all that sick and were probably faking it but, if you take two, then they usually say it's a good thing you took an extra day because you look much better when you return. Win-win in my book.
