So, last weekend, I was at a pancake restaurant, eating pancakes and becan. It was an expensive place. The wait-staff had assistants. The busboy had a butler. Even the delivery drivers had chauffeurs. Anyway, the side of becan (3 strips) cost around $4.50. After one bite, I knew it was worth it.
Thick cut and perfectly fried, it attempted to redefine the standard by which all other becan is measured. It was, at once, crispy, chewy, smoky, and hot with the essence of BECAN pouring from every Becan molecule. Plato would have considered it superior to his ideal becan. Nations would have gone to war over it's crackly, chewy, luscious, becanitude. If the Ancient Greeks had known of its existence, they'd have left Helen and sailed across the Atlantic instead. Napoleon would have abandoned Europe and run here as fast as his little legs could carry him.
That has nothing to do with Wednesday, but it was great becan.
