Been working late trying to get things sold and preparing to move (the 14th is my last day here).  Had someone who was going to pick up a sofa this morning at 9am so I was up and ready by 7:30am - he's a no-show.  So, I try to contact the two others who wanted it yesterday and now I'm too late for both of them.  Last night I'm moving something and pulled my calf muscle (and the area behind my knee).  That's making all the moving around of boxes and furniture even that much more special!  Since July 19th, there's only been three viewings of the house so, of course, as soon as I've pulled everything out of cabinets, drawers, closets and shelves for packing, I get two requests for a tour... *Sigh*
 
Yep, there's even more, but that should give you some idea! 
 
Can't wait until this move is done and I'm back on schedule getting work done!

I always liked moving. Throwing old stuff away. Packing everything neatly in moving boxes. Anticipation to unpack them in a new home. What to unpack first? The stereo or the coffee machine?
 
I understand that your situation is different and more troublesome. I hope it works out OK and you will feel at home.

My issues started back in 2008 during the so-called "credit-crunch" when the banks went crazy.  After several nasty (and, we now know, illegal) actions, I ended up losing two houses, a vehicle and a lot of money (over $820k).  It almost put both my mom and me onto the streets (I finally found a government-subsidized apartment for my mom and I ended up in a friend's 9' x 10' spare bedroom).  So two large houses worth of stuff had to be quickly sold off or stored.  That's how I ended up with a 10' x 25' storage unit packed with our lifelong belongings (in my Mom's name) and most of my studio gear stored in a another friend's basement (since I was supposed to sell almost everything I owned to pay back financial institutions who I really didn't owe any money to).
 
Since then it's been a case of getting work where I can (mostly IT work out of my home and getting involved with startup companies), and selling possessions to make up the difference.  This was the first time that the storage unit was moved - BIG hassle, but it's now close to where I will be living and I've already started dividing everything into "Use", "Sell", "Donate", "Trash" and "Continue to store" piles.  I had no desire to move from where I am now, but the owner decided out of the blue to sell so I had no choice.  Unfortunately, the new place is smaller so any studio gear I have left (NOT much any more!) had to go back into storage for now.
 
For years I've always heard "If you haven't used something for a year, then you should get rid of it." but a lot of what I have that falls into that category is stuff I definitely want to use as soon as I finish digging myself out of this hole!
 
Needless to say, I don't have much trust in banks any more.
