Now, when you jam along with Ramstein, the neighbors won't get that (live drums) concert experience?

I haven't put carpet under yet, so I slid around on the floor playing But it's goodanough for me
I have tried to play out of my monitors, so the neighbours might get more than they'd like
But really looking forwards to getting to use it on my own stuff
Plus I'm getting IK ARC2 in a week or so
If I take the migraines away, this has so far been an excellent week

Having your drum kit slide away is part of the experience. Chasing that kick drum around the stage is half of the fun. My favorite was trying to play while trying to keep my ride cymbal from taking off in the wind. Sure, having a 20" cymbal slicing through the crowd would have added a surreal element to the show, but I wasn't done using it.

Yep, that's a good start there Ken!  I remember buying the smallest kit Roland made, but I couldn't stop adding things until it was completely maxed out.  Next time I'll start with the larger kit!

If I was a drummer, I'd probably agree.
I've had to chase my hi hat on stage a few times, and didn't enjoy it much
My "rubber drums" would probably not kill anyone

Re: NO POLITICS 2016/10/26 13:28:31
For Reals, Mesh.

I was playing an outdoor gig one time (at a small town Octoberfest) when the wind was fairly strong. I had to keep grabbing my ride cymbal (or it's stand) to keep it from flying away. The wind caught it just right to give it some lift while other cymbals just waved madly. Some people crowded closer and started taking pictures, apparently hoping to get a glimpse of some real Death Metal. (Not the genre we were playing, by the way.) Unfortunately, they never got that chance and I was able to finish the gig. Since this predated social media, Internet, and Fire, none of the pictures survived. I still have the cymbal, although it's somewhat shredded.

Does carpet actually work for you?  My kick and hi-hats slide on carpet, just not as much.  I've got the little prickly dealies driving into the fiber...still doesn't stop them.

But you know what does?  Screwing them down to a piece of plywood.  And it works out since that means when I break down and set up I get my pedals and stands in the perfect spot, right where I like them.

Just a suggestion....enjoy!
