If I play the part live I either use my ProKeys 88 controller or my Novation Sl.
I have an old Roland Octopad and bass drum pad, plus an Akai MP16 which is arse.
 
I usually grab a midi file from my library though

Thanks MM.......the Akai MPD18 looks to be exactly what I'm looking for (I'll read up on it a bit and see if there's any bad/ugly using Win8). I'm a bit sloppy on my Alesis QS7.1(midi controller) keyboard and wanted just drum pads to use with my fingers. That's pretty good price for that too.

I'm looking at these two as they seemed to be a slight upgrade with better features: MPD 26 and Korg Padkontrol
.......and leaning towards Korg :)
