I did however drop by a music store today, to spend some time while my wife were at the hairdresser..
Ended up getting to test a GAP Pre-73, a GAP Comp-54 and an Aston Spirit Mic for a few days to give him (the seller) feedback how they work in a home studio 
It started with just the mic. Then I said if he needed someone to test stuff in a home studio, I'd be happy to volunteer for other things.
The pre and comp was offered next 
Might have a new career

Hopefully, they'll start asking you to "test" out software too. That's how Bapu ended with every plugin known to mankind.

Mike is safe, but I like the Pre-73.
No Mike and Michelle in the near future
Not too fond of the comp yet either, but only used it / them for an hour..

I like the mic, but not as much as I like Mike 
It feels a little smoother than my NT1A..

Sorry about that, I keep mine at 11 just for the shock value......

I'm counting minutes before my studio is seized / overtaken (again) for a few weeks 
Now to see what I can do with this under powered laptop and SONAR next  I really need an AI for it, but can't be bothered to unplug my studio AI to use whit it..

That's got to be putting your "work around" skills to the test no? Without an AI?
Then again, if anyone can do it, you da man.....Mr. Fix it!!!
