Bapu's Christmas Gift

http://www.kalaukulele.com/detail.asp?PRODUCT_ID=KA-UBASS-FS

I saw this the other night on TV. Paul Simon's bass player was using it. I became immediately enamored with it.

My Lovely Lady is giving it to me for Christmas.

Update: It was on backorder. It's due to arrive Monday. YAY!

Will you be able to find somebody to play it for you?

hmmm I seem to be having a deja vu moment here.

Once I get the thing, I'll have to "size up" the applicants to play it.

I'm thinking of joining space_cowboy's "little people" KISS band. I wouldn't stand out behind that bass would I?

You misunderstand, it's a small instrument you grasp with one hand and strum with the other, although Bapu uses a pick sometimes.

I saw that, too - on Colbert?  It took me a moment to realize that it was a bass and not a baritone uke.  Looks pretty cool.
