Bari Sax?
Looking for a baritone saxophone. Is there something that comes with X3 Producer? If not, can anyone recommend something? Free is nice. Free and awesome is nicer. Not free and worth it is also cool. -Jeremy

Try the samples in Dimension Pro. They're free with X3 Producer.

Lynn, Thanks for the suggestion. There are alto and tenor sax programs in Dimension Pro, but no soprano or baritone. The tenor patches don't go down far enough for my purposes. The closest thing I found for what I'm looking for was the contrabassoon in DPro's Garritan Pocket Orchestra collection. But I'm still on the lookout for an actual baritone sax.

I'm not aware of free options for this particular tone, but I can only surmise they are out there.
However, I did get the Garritan Jazz collection a couple years ago and it has served well for all forms of sax and other band instruments. Very natural sounding. I've not researched upgrades or the latest offerings, but the one I picked up about two years back is very good.
Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

Broadway Big Band or Vienna Symphonic Library Saxes.... Buy em! You won't regret. At least I haven't regretted buying them. I use both regularly.

Both amazing, and I don't have either unfortunately :-) I use the Samplemodeling saxes, they are also up there ... certainly not free though !. Here's one you might want to check out - has a "Demo Download" which is always helpful. It's a hundred bucks - I'm tempted to grab it to expand my Sax sounds. http://www.linplug.com/saxlab.html It covers you for the entire Sax range, I haven't tried it out yet because in the middle of too much stuff right now. Cheers - Cliff

There is a baritone sax in TTS-1 but it's not great.

VSL - Has the best, most controllable saxophone sounds that I've heard. I also have Garritan, Yellow Tools and Kontakt bari sax samples. I've found myself turning to VSL everytime I need sax sounds.

I have all those as well but if I absolutely must use a sampled sax I find myself always going to John Rekeveks Sax: http://www.northernsounds.com/forum/showthread.php/9032-John-Rekevics-Saxophone-Library-Bigga-Giggas-Tenor-Sax-released Funny I googled the crap out of this and couldn't find anything. I thought maybe now, years later, it would have shown up in a recycled cheap format somewhere, since giga is dead. (I still use it in giga.) And apparently the demos (broken links... can't hear them) are terrible...!? But it has so many articulations it's really easy to work with and sounds great... big deep tone. Sorry this is zero help but I was wondering if anyone else had even heard of this? It's my "go-to" bari. Oh also the baritone is by far the best of the saxes in this collection.

I have the sax brothers from sample modelling and they sound great. Would like to try Broadway Big Band from fable sounds but I think it's over priced.

All the above suggestions are good. If you need to do this on the cheap use the tenor sax from dimention and then either vvocal or melodyne to pitch shift the part lower. I used this in a sax section recorded from real horns and doubled the lowest tenor part to get the barri. This works ok in a section but not so great solo so it depends on your goal.

Mojo Horns by Vir-2. I just completed a Big Band production, using the saxes and horns from this library and they are fantastic.
