Sorry for the late reply. Put in a 14 hour day yesterday. I should be able to get back to the mixer this afternoon. I do appreciate the help and will try the suggested steps.

My issue happens with no populated tracks in the project. Just press play and it happens. Post #10 outlines this.

You should localize problematic component. So:
1) remove Mackie Control Surface from Sonar configuration, remove X32 MIDI from Sonar Configuration. Do you still see the effect? If not, that has nothing to do with Sonar (do you have something connected to X32 MIDI input? do you use some MIDI translator?)
2) add X32 MIDI To Sonar Configuration. Do not add Control Surface yet. Restart Sonar (!), create new test project. Do you see the effect? If yes, this MIDI is implicitly used as output for something. We should find where and why.
3) if the effect is there only when you have Mackie Control Surface configured, what exactly is "the movement"? The source is open, I can have a look what can trigger it.

Sorry it took so long, the day job has been killin me.

1. I removed the MCU and X32 midi from Platinum. The effect does not persist.
2. Still do not see the effect
3. The effect is only there with the MCS configured. The movement is slider 1 in the DCA group 1 without the DAW control portion of the X32 active. The slider moves -12db.  When The DAW button on the X32 is active, the volume gets louder by the same amount but no slider movement

Thanks for any additional info you may have.

Apologies for delayed response. RL demands.

Have attempted to try various things to resolve the issue referred to earlier (Track 1 drops volume to near infinity in Sonar and on MCU) but unfortunately the problem persists.

In Preferences:
Unchecked zero all controllers on stop function
Unchecked any other midi send/control/searchback items
(not using midi - just audio. Have used midi tracks - these are archived and 'Read' switched off)

In Track 1:
Switched off 'Automation Read' on Track 1
Deleted the Envelope in Track 1 (Envelope reappeared)
'Moved' Envelope up to Zero db (Issue still occurred, fighting with Envelope setting while track played.)

My 'Track 1' controller is on my Mackie XT (Extension) which also seems to get its selector/solo/mute buttons frozen as a result of the issue.

Will attempt azslow3's suggestion re removing MCU from the configuration/new project. Though my (unskilled) thinking is that I have never had this problem with MCU/Platinum prior to this update, and have not changed anything - working on same files before version H.

I have azslow3's plug-in, but am unsure how to set it up/proceed - (complexity/inadequate knowledge)

Glad to have support from you guys and respect your patient understanding if we don't grasp things first time round.

Thanks for the reply. I know you was expecting that result, but I prefer excluding potential reasons one by one.

For next tests, you need my plug-in (see my signature). Install the latest release version. Your browser/windows can warn you it is unsigned/"unsafe". Just go throw (if you want more info about me, you can check DNS information for my site. I simply do not want pay >>$150 every year for the "official" signature).

In the Control Surface preferences replace Mackie Control with my plug-in (remove Mackie Control and add AZ Controller with the same input/output as you are using for Mackie Control).

4) open AZ Controller preferences (from Utilities Sonar menu or CS Module on Sonar control bar). Switch to the "Options" Tab. Locate "Tweak current configuration..." and select "Reset configuration". Try to reproduce the problem.
5) in the "Tweak current configuration..." select "Mack.. Control". Try to reproduce the problem. Also, does X32 works in general with that settings? I mean it should work almost as with the original Mackie Control.
