I am very bad at playing bass is there a software tool to help create bass lines?

    You can also get some very convincing bass sounds from Kontakt and the Scarbee bass samples.....

    Steinberg had the "virtual bass player" which now is legacy.

    I remembered it to be quite cool,  though this was with Sonar 2.2 :)

    SampleTank has some great bass sounds in it if you want to try midi programming. Or if you have a midi keyboard its a lot easier.

    Your best bet is a midi keyboard and some good samples.Sampletank Free has some nice basses and the free Kontakt Player has a decent bass.The Scarbbe Basses from N.I. are awsome and I.K.'s Expansion Tank 2 has a nice bass collection.
