Bathe In The Light
Here is an original song, I wrote for a friend, going through some very tough times... I welcome any and all feedback... and as always, I will try to recipricate... Thanks... Remixed 4-7-13 Re-sang first verse & bumped up Vox... Bathe In The Light http://soundcloud.com/tantontunes or for a higher res (320 kbps) SoundClick http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?songid=12260566&q=hi&newref=1 "Bathe In The Light" Lyrics There comes a time in everyone's life, When you've got to stand up and do what's right. Don't let your time slip away out of sight, Just get on up and do it tonight. Some people say only their way is right, They've got all the answers and they've seen the light. Never give in and blindly follow them, And don't give up without a fight chorus --- Bathe in the light, when the time is right Don't fade quietly into the night , Bathe in the light... What's the point of being alive, If you don't live every day of your life. Make yourself happy, Just give it a try, Let yourself bathe in the light. bridge--- you've got to live until you die, if you're gonna' play the game of life. Get on up and get it, just get on back in it, and don't give up without a fight... In the dark of the night, don't give up the fight, You've got to struggle with all your might. Your day will come, your time in the sun, just let yourself bathe in the light... chorus---

Great mix Frank. Really like the way this sounds. I enjoyed the slight Van Morrison sound to the vocals. I wish, however, that I could believe that my day will come. But, you are right, you gotta keep on keepin on. Well done.

Can I be Frank with you? You need to push the vox up a bit. They sound really good, but they're down in the mix. And the song is really about the words and the message. I thought it was beautiful, and a very nice sentiment, but push them up there a bit.

Yea, did sound van morrisonish - nice. The vox could stand to be a bit more forward - it is fighting a little w/ all the guitar and other midrange. Maybe some notch cut rather than vol. And only on the verses, not the chorus which is repeated. Overall a nice song and mix. It works and is all well done. @

Frank, This is really an awesome song and a great sound all around. Vox could come up just a bit. Nice production and everything fits together nicely. Great job on this. Enjoyed. Peace be with you. Blessings, John

Lovely song Frank, impeccably played and produced as always..except...those auto-tuned BGV's are nasty sounding and over-done, they really detract from a wonderful organic sounding track. Everything else is absolutely spot-on. Beautiful mando too btw, love that.

This is a beautiful song, Frank. I agree the lead vox could come up, but just a little. I don't hear any problems with the bv vocals.

10 out of 10, "perfect." Just beautiful, such a nice song too, I'm sure whoever inspired it was blessed by this masterpiece. I really enjoyed the dobro as well as the mandolin. This song is like comfort food. The remix/tweak frosted it. I sent the link to friends and family. I'm interested in several other things about this. I know you use vintage guitars and amps, what keys are used on this song? I hear them layered. Not the strings, but there's a few different types of pianos here. One sounds like a Worthletser, and maybe there's a Rhodes in there too? If you could take a paragraph to discuss the instrumentation and how it was recorded? A lot of work went in to this...

Thanks Scotty... I'm glad you liked it... How's the Rock Band gig coming along..? Wookiee, thanks for listening... I took yours & others advise, and bumped up the lead vox a tad... James, I didn't auto-tune any BGVs, but I do agree, they are a bit overdone & nasty sounding in places... hopefully, they are not quite as offensive as they were, since re-mixing... Please let me know if/where you still hear anything weird in the song... I trust your ears, and musical sensibility... Thanks for the help... Thanks Lynn, I sure appreciate your ears & words... hopefully the re-mix is a little more balanced, and working better... Chuck... Thanks for listening... I really enjoyed your video...

Really nice job on the lyrics on this one Frank... great message and sentiment. Loved the tune. I'm late to the party (4/8) so I guess I caught the re-mix which sounded just fine on the small speakers. Really liked this... sort of a Motown meets Van Morrison feel was what I came away with. I'm sure your friends spirits were lifted after hearing this fine song.

Nice song and a truly nice message. If I would have just given in I could have been rich, crooked and unhappy. I settled for 'comfortable" honest and almost always happy. This song sounds really nice, of course, but it also makes me feel good too. Great gift to a friend!
