If you are an occasional keyboard player than don't worry about the action of the keyboard as much. Aftertouch is a whole different ballgame altogether. I have played on real pianos and synth keyboards most of my life. Performing riffs is much easier on semi-weighted keys because of the way the keys bounce back to your hand and fingers. Unweighted keys do feel cheap to play on.
In my case, your fingering adapts to the keyboard rather quickly. The heavier the action is the greater increase of exhaustion your fingers will suffer. But if you are recording tracks you probably are not playing parts the length of the 1812 Overture anyway.
The other factor to ponder is if are you leaving the board on one place or gigging with it. If you gig, the lighter the better. If you are young, your back, hips and joints with thank me later.
I have a 17 pound 88 keys M-Audio PROKEYS 88 SX. It does a perfect job using soft synths and has an adjustable velocity setting for dynamics (soft to loud) I personally use the first two of three. The last one is sketchy and harder to control. No aftertouch but with all the tools SONAR PE has for sweetening I've never missed the dynamic. It depends on your musical tastes of course.
Plus it features a USB and standard MIDI port. Good luck getting that on the older axes.
