Be happy for the next generation getting Cakewalk for free

Cakewalk almost died. No future support for Windows 11, etc.
But now instead of it being in the dustbin of history,
your children and grandchildren, your nieces and nephews can learn your favourite DAW
without having to download it illegally to learn this amazing software!

And while previous versions of Sonar will stop working eventually due to new versions of Windows,
it sounds like Bandlab will continue to maintain the core program for free,
so you won't have to worry about incompatibility.

And while Bandlab has given away the 'core' for free,
it sounds like there are features coming up in the future which will only be given to previous paying customers,
for the first time anyway.

So first time downloaders will not get those features, only loyal Cakewalkers will be rewarded.

It sounds to me like the business model is to give away the core for free,
but synths, special pro-channel modules, etc will be for purchase.

Considering Bandlab is NOT Gibson, I think everyone should be saying a giant THANKYOU!
I think they are being MORE than fair, everybody wins!

Continued maintenance of the core for free ✔
Special Cakewalk features only for previous paying customers ✔
And some cool stuff for purchase in the future for those who want it ✔
