If I remember correctly, the X1 Reference Manual was made available for download a little while after the program was released.

Perhaps you mean the online help file, which I know can be enabled for offline access, but I am looking for the PDF version of a reference manual like e one that came with X1, so I can read it while traveling, etc.

    I know about this:

I'm looking for something like this:

No, I believe the Reference Manual (the Big Book) showed up as a download in our store accounts a while after the release. They probably haven't finished proofreading it, and prioritized the rollout of the actual app!

    Thanks for the feedback, SvenArne.

Not in any of my store files or on the X2 support page (yet). I think you maybe right, and they will roll it out soon. I honestly don't see it anywhere.

Yes, Andrew, I noted that link above. Does this mean you are not releasing a PDF reference manual for X2?

Yes, Beepster, that is the same link. I guess the question is: is this new online format and the help.ch... The only sources we will have available?

Someone mentioned earlier you have to go into preferences somewhere and uncheck the "Online" option for the manual and then you can get the offline version. Let me see if I can find the thread.

Yes, I have read that. It's in preferences /advanced. It's the same format as the online version. I'm looking for what we had in X1. (See post 3)

Oh. Yeah maybe they're still writing it but I'd imagine the bulk of the X1 manual is still valid. I was hunting around for it earlier too. I would like to know where the additional content referenced to in the link I posted is. I was looking at the Effects section and underneath most of the explanations it tells you for more info to see the online help but doesn't provide a link. I'm assuming that is still being worked on as well.

@qlne... Naw I get it. I'd like to take a look too and I'm not certain if there is a more thorough manual coming but I'd imagine that's the last thing out the door. The more seasoned users would know better how manual releases go down but I recall seeing something mentioned about how manuals come out a little later than the software... but again I might be totally wrong on that as well. I often am. ;-)

Open it offline and save as a PDF if you want or an HTML doc which you can access through your browser of choice.

Better than the previous PDF reference guide as it is fully linked throughout the document.

The previous reference guide had exactly the same I Fi as the help file just presented in a linear format as a pdf

There are 2 links at the very end to further pages with more information. Is that what you meant?

@mudgel... Ack, sorry man. It's the included plugins reference page. It gives a screen cap of the plugs GUI and a brief description. Underneath the description for almost all of them it states "For more information see the [XXX] online help". For more clarification this is the first one "For more information, see the 2-band EQ online Help." However if you are on your phone it probably wouldn't display correctly. I'm thinking my problem might be with Firefox.

Yeh it's displayed fine. Just takes a while to load.
Every place where it says for more infoi see such and such theres a link to another entry with additional info.

Are you not seeing any hyperlinked text?

    Andrew Rossa [Cakewalk

    Online help is available here:

    http://www.cakewalk.com/documentation/

I just completed a web site mirror of this using ' WinHTTrack Website Copier 3.46'.
It seems to be a complete local copy of the web site with English, French and German pages.
So you can put it on your non-network-attached machines and still have browsing ability.

    It's about 500 MB uncompressed.

If no one at Cakewalk objects, I can make a copy of this available for download.

Since this takes a while to run, and no one wants the site hammered by extra spiders, I don't see any harm in making this available.

The tool allows for updates to be made automatically, so I can run this every few months to keep it up-to-date.

@mudgel... Thanks for checking. I am not seeing that so this might be another case of the site not liking FireFox or I'm gonna have to go through the NoScript entries and see if it's blocking the links. Currently the cakewalk domain is allowed and I tried cloudfront but it didn't work. Perhaps some other FireFox (or Opera and Chrome) users could chime in here. Cheers.

I actually preferred the "flat" 1850 page PDF manual because I liked to be able to make references to certain page numbers, which you can't do with the online/offline help. The PDF file also had links if you wanted to use them.

If CW don't intend creating one for X2 then fine, I'll source a third party manual, but could we be advised one way or the other first please?

    @beepster, mudgel.....

I went to your link in #16, and while the "see more info link"  is italicized, it is not active. Non functional on os6 and android. I'm guessing it may be a while before they address this issue, as it seems they have more critical problems to fix.

I do hope the don't just offer this new online/offline option.

Hi guys, Just wanted to confirm that our doc team created a ref guide in EN/DE/FR. If its not up here now it should be soon. I'll follow up with them. Here's what Cakewalk are providing with X2: 1. User Guides, printed and PDF in EN/DE/FR/IT/ES/CH 2. Local Help (CHM), X1 style in EN/DE/FR 3. Web Help, EN/DE/FR 4. Reference Guide PDFs in EN/DE/FR
