Be nice to me I'm stressed

The remodel is not finished but the studio "is".

I had to ask the drywall guys to decide they were finished and pack it up. The electricians hooked me up good. I told the HVAC guys to come back a week from now... I'll share the AC with the "live room".

I spent most of yesterday setting up a full power remote location rig... in my own studio. :-S.

Yikes the band shows up in a couple hours... and we're gonna use the real life drum kit.

Stress and bliss all at once.

Where can I get more of that stuff?

Does anybody have a piece of string I can use for the overheads?

Are you gonna be live streaming the session?  You could borrow Conkwistadaw's web cam..

Re:Be nice to me I'm stressed 2012/05/09 07:59:35 (permalink)

Thanks Karyn.

The coolest part about this is that even though the drywall is just barely drying... I have this thing that actually looks like a small multi room studio now.

My old do everything room is now the "live room" and my new room is the new club house.

I've made a custom window frame for the hole I cut in the wall and after we finalize drywall and paint I'll get to install it and it will look "official" with it's non parallel double glass etc.

I still have to pick out a nice light floor color.

best regards,
mike

I have a crawlspace under the floor. This could be a possibility.

I actually played under a disco ball last Friday... and thought; "oh yeah! I'm gonna get me one for my place".

I'm getting me some of that.

All I have to do now is to get the foreman to sign up for the idea and it's goin' down.

I've understood from someone on this forum that there is no need for custom frames when they have been standardized for years now.

Or Am I wrong?

BTW, don't let Janet "break" you window frame.

Sounds like you've got a learning experience ahead. What does this acoustically untreated room sound like. Maybe if the drywall mud is still wet, it will absorb some of the reflections.

Mike, remove the word stress and insert something positive. Words like adventure, opportunity and challenge. Ya, that's the ticket.

The band showed up and they were so professional in their attitude that every thing went better than great.

It was the kind of session that makes you want to be part of the craft.

A couple more days of recording lie ahead.

:-)

Good times.

You'll know how correct you are when they release their video and I can post a link. :-)

They are anxious to get the song in the can so they can produce their video.

I'm excited for them.
