It's funny. My wife always goes grocery shopping for me before she leaves. She travels for work and is gone 2 ~ 3 weeks every month.
She picked me up some becan before she left this time. I haven't had it in so long. Oh my God it's so good. I whipped up a batch with some egg's the other morning, got it nice and crispy. I don't use any butter, I just fry the egg's in the becan fat. Oh man, I'm gettin' hungry again. :)

I'm right off Alamo Square on Divisadero St. just one block south of these guys. If you click the link above the pics and then go to "Address" there's a little inset map or you can paste their addy into Google maps for the big picture. My Dad is from New Jersey (NJ/NY being the home of totally awesome pizza) originally and he always talks about that place and we have to go there every time he visits. The best part is both those pictures are vegetarian ones believe it or not. The top one is their signature Little Star (spinach, ricotta, mushroom, onion, and garlic) and the bottom one is the vegetarian. They just recently started doing the Little Star with the most tasty meatballs ever in it as a fairly regular special. Some 26 yo kid from NJ started it about 5 years ago.
