It looks like it's the Goon Show.  There's a sad quote from Spike Milligan towards the end of the article.

Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds

Should auld acquaintance be forgot--hey, who the hell are you guys?

Correct  Old 55, the Goon Show. Well done. I read this in a book years ago and couldn't find it anywhere on the web- I was trying to stump "The Graduate".

Read the reply above yours (and the "B" word does not stand for Beetlejuice).

Gotcha.  I didn't make the connection.  I hate when that happens.  It sounds like you stumped him, though.

Did you read George Martin's "All You Need Is Ears"?  I vaguely recall having heard something about Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds.  I don't remember if George mentioned it in there, but it is a possibility.

Yes, the Graduate is his nibs Mr Neb.

I stole it from SteveStrummer and then he politely laughed at his own creation.

I bet you Ben knew that question!
Thanks guys it's Sunday here and I like to stay in bed until Insiders comes on TV (A show about the state of Australian politics), I have to look smart because I didn't know the answer to that question, see I can I admit when I don't know something, I know that Lennon loved the goons, so it doesn't surprise me.

He was very excited when he found out George Martin was going to produce them because Martin had produced Perter Sellers.

But what we talking about here and this is to save face is english written surrealism which started with Edward Lear and Jabberwocky, this was then followed by Alice in Wonderland.

    Did I save face???

As for the Pedro comment, is that aimed at me, I looked him up hoping he was a mexican gunslinger but all he was, a footballer.

No mate, Pedro is 'Moshkiae' in here.

Often referred to simply as 'Moshpit'.

Nice chap, but is often prone to bouts of verbiage.
