2. I discovered it doesn't work well or at all SPE 8.5.x x64 edition. 3. I discovered I can not drag-n-drop samples from any folder. Beatscape looks for a specific folder for called "User Samples". 4. Now that I addressed the "User Samples" folder issue with a registry hack,
I decided to really try to use Beatscape in a project in SONAR x64, and as you have, I discovered it doesn't work very good.
I am missing all the buttons that are suppose to be in the top right of the GUI, such as the ACT button, step sequncer button, automation Read button, etc.
In SONAR 8.5 32-Bit and SONAR 8.5 x64 I am unable to load any rex2 files from the Beatscape GUI browser, when I try it says "file not found," even though I've re-installed Beatscape 2 or more times. Just what is that registry hack you used to get the samples to actually be linked to the Beatscape browser. I don't think this is a PropellerHead issue, meaning the rex2 files are not showing up because I'm in a windows 64-Bit environment. I say this because I can browse to a rex/2 file and load it in PXP Player using SONAR 8.5 32-Bit and the files play back. However, I can't play a rex2 file in SONAR 8.5 x64, nor can I load RXP Player in this version. I accept this to be propellerHead's fault for not making recycle files compatible with a native 64-Bit environment.
The good news is that even though I am missing all the buttons that are suppose to be in the top right of the GUI, in SONAR x64, I can still use the Media Browser of SONAR 8.5, browse to a .wav sample, and load it into Beatscape. And Beatscape performs very well playing back .wav files loaded into the pads!
I still would like to have those feature/function buttons that are suppose to be in the top right of the Beatscape GUI, though. That is something that Cakewalk should be responsible for fixing.:)
Cya all around.
