Been away for a while has X3 improved?
Been moving for about the last 9 months and now I am stable, I have X2 Producer and it is fine, wife bought me X3 Producer for Christmas but I never got a chance to use it. I am sure there have been updates since Christmas but I saw a post about performance issues with X3 can't afford to have that with a major demo project coming? I was looking forward to the new editing features in X3. Want to know what I should be in store for thanks for your time

X3e is the best Sonar version so far. Not just sayin' it....it is true. Keep X2 on your computer in-case you run into any trouble, but I really doubt you will have any issues. Congrats on the Christmas gift.

In a word, speed comping, ok that's two but it really is a feature worth upgrading for alone IMHO. I find X3 far more stable than X2 but then I found X1 more stable than X2. IMHO the overhaul started in X1 really is coming into its own now. I would definitely recommend upgrading. I thought there was a demo available if you want to find out for yourself.

Skip installing DimPro and "Loops and One Shots" they are the same as X2. If you use Waves plug-ins do not mix VST3 and VST2 versions in the same project. If a synth generates MIDI data, "Enable MIDI Output" is on by default (it was off by default in X2). Comping and ARA are probably the biggest work flow changes.

I echo all the above. X3e is the best version of Sonar that one can have.

Yeah, X3e is the best it's ever been I think. Features, obviously, but also stability-wise. I work in Sonar all day most days of the week, and I get a crash maybe once a week.

So it turns out that my C: drive is full and I don't have enough room to uncompressed the software to install it. I have over 300 gig on my D drive and I have tried everything I can think of to make room and still not enough. So this has open up my thought process to buying a new pc just for X2 and X3 any suggestions places, specs and prices? I have now 8gb memory 1TB Hardrive 55gb SSD drive which is full and extra TB drive, running Windows 7 I don't want to go to Windows 8?

If you're happy with your computer, why not just buy a new C: drive? A clean install of Windows 7 along with X3 and a custom install of X2 just for the bits that aren't in X3 and you'll be rocking. Then you can transfer over stuff you need from the old C: drive, or re-install things like 3rd party plug-ins, as needed.

Craig beat me to it. Don't forget you will need external disks to backup your data. You can use something like Acronis 2015 to image your PC as a backup first. A clean install would be a great idea, you could also move and partition the data into better locations. Cheers...

The issue is I have software loaded that is I format my hard drive then I loose it such as Adobe Audition and other Adobe tools I love to use. I have considered reformatting but I have a 55gb SSD I need a much bigger one for my OS. I am concerned that somehow I will loose all of the important software I need. Also I HATE Windows 8.1 so I have been researching Windows 7 workstations I am thinking of getting this one just for X2 and X3 http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=8793814&CatId=4925 Anderton
