Been listening

since playing and building has been put on hold.
While enjoying Sungha Jung and the DVD of Blackmore's Nights
I decided that the tone of their guitars was most likely the best
or as good as I've ever heard...and me not being that much into acoustics..

Lakewood. I do know if I were looking for an acoustic- Taylor has moved
down my list.

I also thought that the German luthiers may also have the upper hand on some
of the finest woods in the world...and that can't hurt.

I've always loved the sound of Larry's Taylor 414, but my friend had a guitar made by these guys last year, their 'Torridge' model; http://www.brookguitars.com/index2.html It's a stunner.

I'd sure like to play their Exe model James.

This is the Lakewood I'd like to play.

I guess neither are having trouble with the Martin headstock design.
My old Takamine had it but Martin made them change...IIRC.

I never really thought about it, but my Tanglewood acoustic has that headstock too.
