When I was a kid my great aunt (who was 90+ at the time) had a stroke and was hospitalized. We drove all the way to go visit her and her family. She had requested that any of us bring her her trusty old cane which had been left at the house.
So the whole family piled into the hospital room and the poor old bird was in rough shape. Could barely speak and all that but VERY quickly after our arrival she started mumbling and gesturing at the cane. Of course her son handed it to her because why not?
That crazy old broad cracked that old antique cane open to expose a flask of brandy or some other such madness... right in front of a room half filled with children. Apparently no one knew until that point the secret of the cane and there was a short struggle to remove it from ole auntie's clutches.
After a short negotiation though (and her agreeing to only take a wee sip a day) the cane was handed over intact.
Hardcore.
